There was great excitement at Forest Hill House Nursing Home recently as our residents enjoyed a truly unforgettable experience with some very special visitors from The Falcons Crest.
Last week, we welcomed a wonderful selection of birds of prey to the home, giving residents the opportunity to get up close to some of nature’s most magnificent creatures. From the moment they arrived, there was a real sense of anticipation and excitement throughout the home, with residents eager to meet these stunning birds and learn more about them.
The visit proved to be every bit as impressive as we had hoped.
Meeting Some Incredible Birds of Prey
The birds themselves were absolutely beautiful, showcasing their incredible feathers, striking features and impressive wingspans. Many residents were fascinated by the different species on display and enjoyed hearing about their habitats, behaviours and the important role birds of prey play in the natural world.
What made the experience particularly memorable was the opportunity for every resident to hold and stroke the birds under the careful supervision of the handlers from The Falcons Crest. For many, it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience and one that brought smiles, laughter and plenty of conversation throughout the day.
Some residents were initially a little hesitant, but it didn’t take long before curiosity took over and they found themselves enjoying every moment of the experience. Others embraced the opportunity immediately, delighted to hold such majestic creatures and pose for photographs with their new feathered friends.
