While it may be easy to feel a bit discouraged given the current circumstances, the residents at Forest Hill House Nursing Home, one of our residential nursing homes in Dorset, have recently been on the receiving end of some incredible displays of positivity.
To help our country’s NHS tackle this coronavirus issue and to improve the safety and well being of all our residents and staff across all of our care homes, we have chosen to do mass testing of all residents and staff.
Residents at Forest Hill House Nursing Home have been enjoying the easing of restrictions recently, and a warm sunny day provided the perfect conditions for a trip to a popular local cafe.
The residents of Forest Hill House Nursing Home had the pleasure of spending this year’s World Book Day in the company of some very special visitors. A group of preschool children from Blossoms Day Nursery in Corfe Mullen made the trip up the road to our nursing home in Wimborne to spend some time sharing their favourite books and stories with our residents.
Last month was breast cancer awareness month with residents & staff at our nursing home in Wimborne fully embracing ‘Wear it Pink’ day. The home was awash with every shade of pink – vibrant t-shirts, jackets, trousers and wigs aplenty.
Residents from Forest Hill House Nursing Home recently enjoyed a day out to Blandford, visiting Compton Abbas Airfield. The entertainment involved a variety of airplanes in action as well as a thrilling wing walking performance which, unsurprisingly, was a role none of our residents were keen to volunteer for!
On July 5th we had the incredible launch of our new bar at Forest Hill House Nursing Home in Corfe Mullen! Our new fully stocked bar has been named ‘The Stags Head.’
Today at Forest Hill House Nursing Home in Corfe Mullen, we celebrated ‘National Afternoon Tea Day’! We had a lovely time enjoying the British tradition of Afternoon Tea with scones the Cornish way – warm scones spread with jam and topped with lashings of clotted cream.
We made the most of the gorgeous weather this week at our nursing home in Wimborne, as we got involved in supporting ‘National BBQ Week.’ National BBQ Week is a nationwide campaign now in its 23rd year, the campaign runs from 27th May – 2nd June 2019 and is the perfect start to the British BBQ season.
The 29th June 2018 saw the grand opening of the new Memorial Garden at our Forest Hill House Nursing Home, in Wimborne. Special guests for the ribbon cutting included local MP, Michael Tomlinson, and Corfe Mullen’s Rev. Peter Jones.
Forest Hill House Nursing Home in Dorset support ‘The Growing Compassionate Communities’ charity and in May our very own care home manager, Andy Chamberlain, went to Parliament to attend the launch. We are particularly supportive of the Charity’s key focus to help people with dementia enjoy an improved quality of life, and benefit from greater social inclusion.
