Remembering Together at Forest Hill House

Remembering Together at Forest Hill House
Residents at Forest Hill House Nursing Home have been getting creative as they prepare a special Remembrance display to honour those who served and sacrificed for our country.

Using their time, care and creativity, residents have been making beautiful handmade poppies to form part of a meaningful display within the home.

It has been lovely to see everyone coming together for such an important occasion and contributing to something that holds real significance.

Creating Something Meaningful Together

Each poppy has been made with thought and care, giving residents the opportunity to take part in a creative activity while reflecting on the meaning of Remembrance.

Activities like this are about much more than making decorations. They provide a chance to share memories, talk about the past and spend time together in a calm and supportive setting.

At our nursing home, we aim to offer activities that are both enjoyable and meaningful, helping residents stay engaged with important events and traditions throughout the year.

Honouring Those Who Served

Remembrance gives us all an opportunity to pause and reflect on the courage and sacrifice of those who served.

For many residents, the occasion may also bring back personal memories of family members, friends or experiences from earlier in life.

As one of the residential nursing homes , we believe it is important to create space for these memories and allow residents to mark significant occasions in a way that feels personal and respectful.

The handmade poppies will form part of a larger display designed to honour those who gave so much.

Creativity and Connection

Creative activities are an important part of life at Forest Hill House.

Whether residents are painting, crafting, taking part in seasonal projects or contributing to displays such as this one, these activities can provide a lovely opportunity for expression, conversation and companionship.

For those staying with us for respite care, joining in with group activities can also be a welcoming way to feel involved and part of the community at Forest Hill House.

It has been wonderful to see residents taking pride in their individual poppies while also knowing they are contributing to something shared.

A Special Display at Forest Hill House

We are incredibly proud of the effort residents have put into creating this year’s Remembrance display.

Every poppy adds something unique, and together they create a fitting tribute to those we remember.

At Forest Hill House Nursing Home, we are grateful to everyone who has taken part and helped make the display so special.

We will remember them.
